Shop Local Stories Queen of Swords
In an area where there is a definite theme to most home goods, Queen of Swords sets itself apart. It seems owner Erin Heath has cracked the code on conscientious curation, as her collection of artisanal goods is full of sustainable products, female owned brands and small batch makers with a focus on fair, sustainable wages. While shopping in this cozy, chic boutique, you can’t help but feel enveloped by the apparent thoughtfulness and craftsmanship of the enchanting products that surround you. Looking for upcycled wooden bowls made in Massachusetts from already fallen trees? Maybe some witty, hand painted pulpboard cards? Queen of Swords would be the place to look. “Whenever I need to find a really unique or special gift with a great backstory, I know Erin will have something that fits the bill”, said a regular customer.
The warm service, winsome ambiance, and thoughtful product selection at Queen of Swords, as well as the obvious strides that Erin has taken to support small businesses, women-owned business and independent artists makes it clear as crystal why she was nominated for our Shop Local Stories. Being intentional about spending your dollars here is clearly more than a single transaction, it is being a part of the shop small movement, of which Erin is clearly a champion.
Every month, along with The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod and Cape Cod Broadcasting, we share stories from across Cape Cod about how our local businesses do more for this community than simply provide goods and services and why shopping with them is more than just a single transaction.
Have a similar shop local story? Or want to share how a local business you know is giving back to the community, working with other local businesses or providing employment opportunities in a unique and interesting way? Nominate them here!
