A deli and coffee shop providing innovative sandwich options with a Mediterranean twist. The shop was opened in 2017 by Fredy and Maryna Chavez and employs 4 year-round employees, with two additional employees in the summer.

The greatest challenge Fredy and Maryna face with their business is their inefficient heating, venting, cooling and lighting systems, and the high costs associated with it. Additionally, they have prioritized some equipment upgrades that make the space more efficient, productive and profitable. And, there is customer demand for the ability to place orders online for quicker pick up.
"The new refrigerator at the Ocean Street Deli allows for more storage of food supplies so we can increase business without worrying about having supplies on hand."
IDENTIFIED CHALLENGES AND PRIORTIES:
Set up an energy audit with Cape Light Compact to identify potential efficiencies and incentives that are available for equipment replacement.
Invest in new kitchen equipment that will increase sales and service customers better.
Upgrade website to include online ordering capabilities.
COMPLETED PRIORITIES:
- The energy audit with Cape Light Compact is complete, and new light fixtures installed.
- New storage freezer and cappuccino machines have been purchased and installed.
- A website overhaul is in progress by Narrow Land Design Studio with online ordering available soon.
The Local Business Boost Program started in 2022 and is currently a partnership between Love Live Local and the Hyannis Main Street Business Improvement District. Additional funding is being sought to take the program to other local businesses across Cape Cod.
