Explore Cape Cod A Perfect Day in Provincetown

Breakfast tea at East End Market or Far Land Provisions, a morning walk through Hatches Harbor, lunch at Fanizzi's by the water, and Friday evening Gallery Stroll followed by cheesecake from the Portuguese Bakery. Stephen's #1 tip: Harbor Lounge is the locals' bar — opposite the library, beautiful harbor views, and most visitors walk right past it.

Start your day at:

East End Market or Far Land Provisions, I share the love between the two places. I grab my English Breakfast tea and delicious breakfast every morning before work.

Spend your morning:

Hatches Harbor next to Herring Cove beach. Magical for walks and where Helltown resided in times past. Either walk from Herring Cove or park in a small secret parking lot. Walk down a small path that opens to a beautiful vista.

Grab lunch at:

Fanizzi's Restaurant by the Sea. In the east end of town. Wonderful views, wonderful staff and great food. It's been a go-to since living full time in Provincetown for 11 years.

Spend your afternoon:

Herring Cove beach for an afternoon dip. My time to decompress. I can watch and listen to the ocean for hours. I love around 4 or 5 pm -- people have left and there is a wonderful calm. Friday evening is Gallery Stroll in the east end -- all the galleries are open, art and local personalities all mixing together enjoying this beautiful town.

Indulge in a treat at:

The Portuguese Bakery opposite my store. Full of delicious cakes and treats. The cheesecake is my favorite. Say hello to Chuck the owner. They are celebrating their 90th anniversary.

End your day at:

Patio is my favorite place to sit outside on a glorious summer evening. On Commercial Street in the center of town it's the perfect place to watch everyone strolling and enjoying themselves in town. Great for a small group of friends. They also have a special area for a doggy.

Bonus -- Hidden Gem or Insider Tip:

Harbor Lounge is a hidden bar opposite the library. A real local hangout to chill and relax. Beautiful views of the harbor.
