EASTHAM, the first town of the Outer Cape, is known for its expansive beaches, locally loved businesses and cultural sites.

Find a variety of morning meals at The Chocolate Cafe and the Fairway Restaurant (which also serves lunch and dinner) year round, and enjoy Laura & Tony’s (known for vegan dishes as well as traditional) and the Eastham Cafe during the high season. Next, find your way to the Cape Cod National Seashore - a landmark known nationwide. Here, learn about the history of the area at the Salt Pond Visitor Center and find the beginning of one of the best hikes in the area through the Nauset Marsh Trail, by Doane Rock, down the Cape Cod Rail Trail to Coast Guard Beach, where you can enjoy the sand and surf.

Find your favorite upcycled and screen-printed attire at the beach-boho ARTichoke, along with beauty products and funky home goods. Stock up on crystals and good karma at Buddha Bob’s, broaden your horizons at the unique Rugosa Gallery, tend to your herbal needs at Emerald Grove, source your jackets, bags, belts and Native American art at Four Winds Leather, known for making many of their items on site.

For more local attractions and activities, take lessons at Sacred Surf School, play a round at Poit’s Lighthouse Mini Golf, acquire all things oyster and book a boat tour at The Holbrook Shoppe, visit Eastham Windmill, home of many community events, as well as Nauset Light and Nauset Light Beach where you can get a permit for an evening bonfire, and cozy up with friends for a memorable night under the stars.

Don’t forget to grab a bite amidst your outdoor excursions. Spot the food truck or head to Joey’s Joint for tacos, savor the fresh raw bar delights and seafood at Caroline’s Bar & Grill and Mac’s Market & Kitchen, sink your teeth into a Basco Grill burger, and share a loaded pizza from The Red Barn. Rest your weary bones for dinner at the kid-friendly, crowd-pleasing Local Break, or the Latin-inspired Casa del Cabo.
