LOCAL BUSINESS BOOST PROGRAM NARRATIVE CASE STUDY
Bella Cris
584 Main Street, Hyannis
@bellacrisboutique
Cristina felt the exterior of the building did not reflect the Bella Cris brand, and improving upon that was her number one priority. It needed better signage, lighting, a fresh coat of paint and a new awning. The interior lighting system was also a priority to upgrade. Cristina also wanted to invest in a new inventory tracking system that integrates with an ecommerce shop. Additionally, she expressed the need for a visual merchandising assistance to improve the customer experience overall.
"The whole experience from filling out the grant request to dealing with Amanda and Love Live Local was wonderful and everything worked out great with the facade improvements. I think the face of the building is now a great reflection of my brand."
IDENTIFIED CHALLENGES AND PRIORITIES:
- Upgrade exterior façade if funding cannot be obtained through Main Street façade grant.
- Upgrade current POS system to include inventory tracking and an ecommerce element. Connect with the Empower Digital grant opportunity.
- Install better lighting outside.
- Connect with Cape Light Compact for an energy audit and to see if interior lighting can be upgraded.
- Engage with a visual merchandiser to analyze current flow of store and effectiveness of product displays.
COMPLETED PRIORITIES:
- Exterior upgrades including new signage, awning and paint by Ocean Tailors, Hoffman Woodwork and Supreme Painting.
- Connected with Empower Digital grant program (application was ultimately unsuccessful).
- Connected with Cape Light compact for an energy audit.
The Local Business Boost Program started in 2022 and is currently a partnership between Love Live Local and the Hyannis Main Street Business Improvement District. Additional funding is being sought to take the program to other local businesses across Cape Cod.
