Explore Cape Cod A Perfect Day in Hyannis

Kick off the day with an iced salted caramel oatmilk macchiato at Old Kings Coffeehouse, browse 606 Thrift Ave for local art and vintage finds, then grab an ice cream cone at Katie's and stroll Main St. End the night with a short rib poutine and espresso martini at Tap City Grille.

START YOUR DAY AT:

Old Kings Coffeehouse! It’s not technically in Hyannis but right on the border! You gotta go there to start your day off with an iced salted caramel oatmilk macchiato and a breakfast sandwich!

SPEND YOUR MORNING:

You gotta go book shopping at Belonging Books Cape Cod and check out the latest art exhibit/installation/event at The Cordial Eye!

GRAB LUNCH AT:

Grab lunch at the Little Sandwich Shop and then take it to the Hyannis Village Green & have a little picnic. Or take your lunch to Bayview St. Beach and watch the boats come in while eating lunch. This is one of the only free beaches around and they have swings there!

SPEND YOUR AFTERNOON:

I would definitely recommend checking out 606 Thrift Ave for some vintage pieces or one-offs by local artists that sell their clothes there as well. My favorite overalls are from there!

INDULGE IN A TREAT AT:

You have to get an ice cream cone at Katie’s Ice Cream and then roam Main St. to people watch and window shop, it’s one of my favorite activities!

END YOUR DAY AT:

You have to have dinner at Tap City Grille! One of my favorite spots, the bartenders and servers are all incredible. I highly recommend the short rib poutine, one of their many delicious pizzas and an espresso martini or two. It’s a chill atmosphere and family friendly if you need that.

BONUS – HIDDEN GEM OR INSIDER TIP:

Shopping small! There are so many amazing local artists and creators here who pour love into their work. Seeking them out is not only fun, but a powerful way to support our year-round economy and the heartbeat of our community.
