A Perfect Day in Harwich

Beach combing the sound side with her mom, Greek pizza at George's, browsing Murphy's General Store and The Beaded Wire, and fried seafood at Weatherdeck before live music at the Hot Stove. Nicki's #1 tip: the Bank Street Bog Walk has otters — yes, otters — and almost nobody knows about it.

Start your day at:

My morning usually starts off with a cup of Beanstock Coffee at home, but when I want to treat myself well, Cape Roots is the place to go! Great coffee drinks, pastries and sandwiches!

Spend your morning:

I love to spend my mornings beach combing with my mom on the sound side beaches of Harwich! We have found everything from sea glass to arrowheads in this area!

Grab lunch at:

George's Pizza in Harwich Port for classic Greek-style pizza, mozzarella sticks, and a cold soda.

Spend your afternoon:

Walk downtown Harwich Port -- browse shops like Murphy's General Store, The Beaded Wire, The Nines Gallery, and more.

Indulge in a treat at:

Cape Roots has a delicious rotation of homemade pastries. From bundt cake slices, to cookie bars to brownies! There is always something to excite my sweet tooth! Also for late night cravings, I've been known to hit up the ice cream vending machine at Sweet Izzy's.

End your day at:

Weatherdeck in West Harwich for fried seafood, then head to the Hot Stove for drinks and live music.

Bonus -- Hidden Gem or Insider Tip:

Bank Street Bog Walk/Trail. The walk has ponds with ducks, geese, swans and the elusive but sometimes seen, otter!! Flat hard packed ground makes for an easy adventure for all ages. There are benches throughout for places to rest, relax and reflect. It is also a dog friendly area for leashed dogs.
