A Perfect Day in Harwich
Walk the trails at Thompsons Field, launch from Saquatucket Harbor for a run to Monomoy, then grab coffee and afternoon beers at Perks. Cool down with ice cream at Sweet Izzy, and end the night with sushi at Three Monkeys and pizza by the fire pit at Ember. On Wednesdays, don't miss Port Summer Nights!

START YOUR DAY AT:
I start my day walking the dog at Thompsons Field. It is a large recreation area with, as you may guess, a couple large fields surrounded by trails through the woods. It is one of the few places on Cape Cod where you can walk dogs off leash, and a favorite place for local dog owners.
SPEND YOUR MORNING:
I have a boat, so when possible I launch out of Saquatucket Harbor in Harwichport. From there it is a quick and beautiful run to the tip of Monomoy Island to catch some stripers!
GRAB LUNCH AT:
I love Perks Coffee Shop. They have an awesome outdoor patio and bar area which is great both for morning coffee, or afternoon beers. They sometimes have live acoustic entertainment too!
SPEND YOUR AFTERNOON:
Nearby to the Main St. area is beautiful Bank St. Beach. The water is warm and the views are really nice. One of the best "south side" beaches on Cape Cod!
INDULGE IN A TREAT AT:
My family loves ice cream at Sweet Izzy!
END YOUR DAY AT:
At night my wife and I love to go to Three Monkeys. It is funky and lively with great sushi and people watching. We also love the pizza and fire pit at nearby Ember!
BONUS – HIDDEN GEM OR INSIDER TIP:
On Wednesdays in the summer the town chamber of commerce hosts Port Summer Nights, with live music and other entertainment. Makes for a fun night especially when combined with a visit to Perks Beer Garden!
