The local brewery scene on the Cape has gotten pretty darn impressive over the last year and we’re lovin’ every new pint. Grab a designated driver and hop in your car for a beer sippin’ tour spanning from Mashpee to Orleans.
Start with the newest addition, Naukabout Brewery & Taproom located at The Flume Restaurant iconic property overlooking Mashpee Pond. We’ve been a fan of these guys since our early years at the Naukabout Music Festival and are so happy to have them up and running. Expect a rustic, comfortable interior and a charming beer garden with bistro lights. Fav beer/names: Quittin Time + Jetty Escape
Next up is Barnstable Brewing, located on West Main Street in Hyannis who officially joined the circuit last summer. They have limited hours but boast a nice spacious tasting room with games and ample seating. Fav beer/names: Amerihop + K-DUB
Staying in Barnstable, head over to the Cape’s first brewery, Cape Cod Beer. These guys are a staple in the community and have made such a positive influence locally as they celebrate their 14th year this month. They host daily tours and nightly events in their inviting warehouse that showcases their production tanks and an impressive retail selection of locally-made food items and artisan gifts. Fav beer/names: Cape Cod Blonde + Shucker’s Reward Oyster Stout (made with oysters from every town on Cape)
Take Route 6 to Devil’s Purse Brewing Company on Great Western Rd in South Dennis. Enjoy an impressive selection of rotating beers in their small but stylish interior space. Grab a tally sheet (and some super cute merch) at the door and taste up to 5 beers of what they are pouring. Fav beer/names: Surfman’s Check ESB + Stonehorse Citra IPA (so good!)
Lastly, head to the Outermost Brewery in Orleans to sample the goods from Hog Island Beer Company. Post up at one of their oversized picnic tables or at the bar overlooking the Winnebago wall in between shuffle board or cornhole games, perfect for the whole family. Grab a bite to eat brought to you by the talented folks from Local Break in Eastham who have partnered with the brewery. Fav beer/names: White Shark Wheat + Moon Snail Pale Ale
