Discovering a good coffee shop can mean finding a home away from home, and we don’t doubt that many people are going to feel this way about the newly opened Old King’s Coffeehouse that can be found right on Route 28 at the Yarmouth/Hyannis town line.
The goal of the owners – husband and wife team of Mark Corliss and Kate Beaman – was to create a place where hard-working locals as well as tourists looking to experience the best of the Cape could eat, drink and relax year-round, seven days a week from 6am to 8pm.
The interior has a bit of an urban feel with beautiful exposed brick and finished woodwork. The staff is friendly, helpful and enthusiastic.
The menu offers a quick bite, smoothies, baked goods, breakfast served all day, and of course, brewed fresh coffee. They serve coffee made from beans from all over the world – light roasts from Central America, medium roasts from Tanzania, and dark roasts from Sumatra. Their salads and sandwiches are made fresh every day and are accessible to all sorts of tastes and dietary needs.
Old King’s Coffeehouse is the spot to go if you find yourself wanting caffeine while running errands in the big Cape Cod city, need a place to post up and do work, or want to have a nice lunch with friends.
