For many of us, the stay-at-home orders brought on by the coronavirus global pandemic meant just that: we had to stay at home. But for those providing essential services like waste hauling, companies like Nauset Disposal didn’t skip a beat making sure they were able to meet their customer needs in a safe and healthy manner.
Recognizing the many potential sources of exposure to COVID-19 for their team of more than 50 people, Nauset Disposal’s first priority was to keep their staff safe and maintain a healthy work environment by implementing measures such as increasing the cleaning and disinfecting of vehicles, limiting physical and in-person interactions with their staff, and requiring their customers to bag all household trash to reduce exposure to pathogens and odors for their drivers.

They’ve also adapted their service offerings to meet the new needs of the community, such as investing in Sani-Stands for businesses and communities to have hand sanitizer readily and easily available to the public when water is available. They also created a contactless junk removal program for customers who had a lot of time to purge their belongings while stuck at home, and partnered with many COVID test sites to provide disposal services and facilities for staff.
One of the reasons Love Live Local and our founders have connected and collaborated with Nauset Disposal for over a decade, and why they are one of our Mission Supporters, is their consistent commitment to our community.
Not only do they care about their own success as a small, local business, but they also want to contribute to the success of other small, local businesses. In an effort to support their commercial customers they re-launched Wesupportlocalbusiness.com as a place to share critical information on their hours and offerings, and they continue to promote their customers on social media and in their newsletter.
True to form, they will not let a pandemic get in the way of their philanthropic activities. They plan on reworking their very popular annual fundraiser, the Trash Bash, using a creative approach to online crowdfunding with an overall theme of supporting their local community, nonprofit organizations, and businesses.
And, of course, their team has pledged to continue to lead by example, and they are proud to announce thatNauset Disposal has committed to match up to $10,000 in business sponsorships for Trash Bash 2020!
