When we launched the Cape Cod Resilience Fund our goal was to provide economic relief for the local businesses who are the heart and soul of Cape Cod’s economy through grassroots fundraising and with the help of with the help of 375 individual donors, the fundraising efforts of 35 local businesses and organizations, and a grant obtained by the Town of Barnstable we were able to raise $49,000 for our first round of grants.

47 local businesses from across Cape Cod were awarded grants ranging from $500 to $2000 during the first round of giving. The grantees were longtime family businesses as well as newer entrepreneurial ventures and local artists; and were from a variety of economic sectors from restaurants and retail to hotels and professional services. But one thing they all have in common is that they are dedicated to keeping their business alive and passionate about their community
108 applicants submitted applications for the grants for the first round of funding, which indicates that the need for financial assistance in the region is great, and it will continue as the impacts from the economic slowdown continue to be realized.
This is why we are committed to raising another $50,000 by Labor Day so we can give out another round of grants in early September.
