We are wild about local non-profit Wild Care, who specializes in the treatment of injured, ill and orphaned native wildlife. Their impressive team rehabilitates animals so that they can survive independently in the wild after release, and strives to prevent wildlife casualties through public education, counseling, and conservation promotion within the community.
With often stormy and inconsistent weather on the Cape, Wild Care has their hands full … quite literally, receiving 800 to 1,400 wild animals per year for treatment. Wild Care performs mini-wildlife miracles on a daily basis – on patients who can’t pay for their own care. They do not charge the public for their services and accept wildlife regardless of a rescuer’s ability to make a donation. They proudly never compromise quality of care or the dignity of an animal’s life for fundraising purposes.
We are happy to have these notable locals in the community looking out for the Cape’s diverse wildlife population. Show them the local love by attending one of their upcoming fundraising events including their 19thAnnual Yard Sale on June 8 at the Harwich Community Centerfrom 9-12pm and a four-course wine dinner at Alberto’s Ristorante on June 25 from 6-9pm or donate online.
