We’ve been enjoying Sandy McPherson’s baking for years, from her time at LLL favorite Kayak Cookies, to when she went on her own and popped up at our LoveLocal Fests with TWIST Cape Cod and now we are in foodie heaven with her first brick and mortar location, Washashore Bakery in Mashpee Commons.
Sandy, a lifelong baker, solidified her passion in the kitchen while at the Ballymaloe Cookery School in Ireland and later the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone where she specialized in Baking and Pastry. From there she bounced around California and Colorado perfecting her craft at various bakeries and even a dude ranch!
That culinary journey led Sandy back to her favorite place, Cape Cod, to fulfill her dream. Tucked down the alley near Bobby Byrne’s in the Commons, Washashore Bakery is simple, stylish and refreshing with its palette of cool greens and blues and unique touches such as wooden spoons on the wall accenting a driftwood sign and chalkboard menu. Customers can expect quality baked goods from scratch including ooey-gooey cinnamon buns, Sandbars (shortbread, toffee & chocolate squares), lemon squares, scones, homemade pop tarts, cakes, cookies and more.
We’ll see you there!
