It is hard to believe we are wrapping up our THIRD full year of sharing our love of Cape Cod and all its special people, places, products and perspectives! With our 12th LoveLocal Fest happening this weekend, we are so excited to see our vision of creating opportunities for the people behind the sandbar’s locally made, grown and crafted come to fruition. In the chaos of today’s world, it is more important than ever that we sustain a close-knit community. Thanks for being a part of that mission with us!

Find some time in this crazy month to get outside and enjoy the balmy weather, or to cozy up when the mercury dips. Here are our picks for December:

  • Check out the LoveLiveLocal Facebook page on Friday afternoon for this weekend’s happenings. {11.6, 3pm}
  • Get your Santa suit, elfin outfit and reindeer regalia out for the Santa Stampede 5k and Family Fun Run at Joe’s Barley Neck Inn. {12.5, 9:30am} Or, if you’re on the other side of the Cape, head to Falmouth for the 4th Annual Jingle Jog 5K Run & Elf Run! {12.5, 9am}
  • There is nowhere else you need to be on Sunday except LoveLocal Fest :: Holiday Edition at Cape Cod Beer. {12.6, noon-5pm}
  • Come out to support your local fire department’s Homeless for the Holidayfundraising effort! Firefighters all across Cape Cod will be camping overnight and accepting money, unwrapped toys, and canned goods. Check with your department. {12.9-13}
  • Lots of fun to be had at W.H.A.T., from Yule for Fuel {12.5, 12 + 19} to the Met Opera Presents: The Magic Flute, live in HD! {12.12-13}
  • Be among the first to view HBO’s new documentary “Heroin: Cape Cod, USA,” at Cape Cod Community College’s Tilden Arts Center. A serious but important topic to understand and engage about. {12.17, 6pm}
  • Get in the Christmas spirit at the Cape Cod Media Center, where The Bay Colony Shakespeare Company presents a “spellbinding” one-man performance of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” featuring Neil McGarry. {12.21, 7:30pm}
