The newly opened Spoon and Seed is truly farm to table heaven! Located in the building formerly known as Murph’s Recession (fond memories!), this breakfast and lunch spot is tucked away behind Independence Drive on Thornton Drive in Hyannis (look for the veggie gardens in front). Just a week into its residency, Spoon and Seed has “destination dining” written all over it.
The décor is understated and nostalgic with the original wood interior and a small amount of tables and high tops. The food is what speaks volumes here. The kitchen is led by Matthew Tropeano, the former executive chef of Pain D’Avignon Boulangerie & Cafe in Hyannis and the menu is top notch. Their walls proudly declare Spoon and Seed’s local farm partnerships including Not Enough Acres, Wanna Bee Farms, Cape Cod Organic Farm, Fresh Picked by Alfonso and Reel Time Fishing.
For breakfast, expect farm fresh eggs, homemade sausage and corned beef hash all served with just-picked greens and veggies. Lunch boasts a fresh catch of the day, homemade meatloaf and harvest risotto to name a few. Can’t decide? Have it all at weekend brunch!
