Shoal Hope Ciderworks tagline is Locally Produced, Locally Packaged, Locally Committed and that’s obviously right up our alley!
Based out of Provincetown, Shoal Hope Ciderworks was founded in 2015 and officially started selling their ciders in the summer of 2017. Shoal Hope represents the original name of our beloved home before it quickly got renamed to Cape Cod in 1602 by Captain Bartholomew Gosnold to represent the abundance of Cod fish in our waters.
Their delicious ciders can be found in bars and liquor stores from P’town to Plymouth (and beyond) including Cape Cod Beer, Cape Cod Package Store and The West End to name a few. They currently offer four ciders, Monument, Honey Baby, Empty Barrel and Little Tart.
Monument is an off-dry cider flavored with dark brown sugar. The sugar is added after fermentation to impart a molasses flavor reminiscent of traditional New England Ciders.
Honey Baby is an off-dry cider flavored with cranberry bog honey. The honey is added after fermentation to add to the flavor and not to increase the alcohol content of the cider.
Empty Barrel is fermented dry and aged in American craft whiskey barrels for up to 6 weeks. The cider becomes infused with hints of traditional whisky flavors making it a great casual drink for whiskey lovers and traditional cider drinkers alike.
Lastly, Little Tart is a blend of apple and cranberry juices fermented together and then back sweetened with cane sugar. The sugar enhances the sweetness of the apple, which then gives way to a tart, tannin cranberry finish.
Shoal Hope Ciderworks is committed to sourcing locally whenever possible, from ingredients to packaging and is dedicated to truly supporting the local community. They have been community advocates and active participants in local events and fundraisers like the Diva Dash coming up on May 27th at the Harbor Hotel Provincetown.
Keep an eye out for them and remember to drink responsibly while drinking local!
