Two of the many things Cape Cod does really well are providing services and unique experiences to people with special needs and disabilities….and ice cream. Put them together and you’ve got Sail Cape Cod’s Scoops for Sloops spring fundraiser.
On June 17 from 12-5pm at Aselton Park for $10 ($5 for kids) you can get all you can eat ice cream from Ben & Jerry’s, Kandy Korner, Polar Cave, Shipwreck, Sundae School, Jimmie’s Ice Cream and Twin Acres Ice Cream Shoppe, and then vote for your favorite one. There will also be music, games, and sails around Hyannis Harbor.
As a non-profit Community Sailing Program, Sail Cape Cod’s mission is to provide complimentary access to Cape Codders with disabilities, youth, seniors and veterans to the recreational and therapeutic benefits of sailing, as well as offering free sailing instruction for youth requiring financial assistance.
