Captivated at an early age by the beauty of the natural world, Iowa native Bryan Randa first came to Massachusetts to pursue his passion for the arts. His search for an apprenticeship in ceramics led him to Cape Cod … but not to the career in pottery he expected. After finding Sandwich Glass Museum, glass blowing took over Randa’s imagination and a long-term apprenticeship with David McDermott and Yukimi Matsumoto of McDermott Glass Studio led to him to a prolific career of his own.
Today, Randa Glass is known for both beautiful functional vessels, delicate jewelry, and intricate, colorful sculptures ranging from the tiniest flora and fauna to large ocean creatures. Randa works in both offhand glass blowing and lampworking, the latter out of his home studio in Pocasset. His style is immediately recognizable – with vibrant colors, life-like detail, and rich dimension. Galleries across Cape Cod feature Randa’s creations, from Under The Sun in Woods Hole to The Little Beach Gallery in Hyannis and Reflections By Robin in Falmouth to Yankee Ingenuity in Chatham.
