We have loved Hyannis Main Street’s Pizza Barbone since they opened their doors almost one year ago. Owners Jason O’Toole – a Falmouth native – and Ali Lane, his fiancé, have created a foodie haven with a welcoming feel and a dash of urban flair. Innovative appetizers and refreshing, locally sourced salads pair beautifully with any of their ten pizza recipes. Pies prepared in their gorgeous wood-fired brick oven cook at 900 degrees in 90 seconds and will leave the toughest critics smiling and satisfied. From the Forest Mushroom with garlic cream, wild mushrooms, and truffle oil to the House Made Sweet Sausage with ricotta and red onion, there is something for everyone. Save room for their impressive selection of housemade desserts including gelato and Oreos … yes, Oreos!
These days, what’s getting us most excited about one of our favorite local joints is that they are planting a rooftop garden to create a “roof to table” menu this summer. Jay and Ali are elbow-deep in growing nearly 50 fruits, vegetables and herbs on top of the neighboring MorganStanley building, to incorporate into their menu and daily specials. We can’t wait to see what edible magic will bloom!
