Cape Cod’s largest independent organic grocer is growing! Founded in 1978 by Darby Ziruk, Chatham & Dennisport Natural Markets was one of the first stores to focus on offering local families organic food and natural personal products at reasonable prices. Now Darby’s daughter Rory Eames, who grew up watching her mother operate the business, has taken the reins and recently oversaw a re-branding to Organic Market.
This week, the third Organic Market location opens in Mashpee Commons. While it boasts 4,000 square feet of fresh, organic, non-GMO verified produce and groceries, a juice and smoothie bar, prepared foods and a hot food section, the personal touch that has always set the family business apart remains.
Rory (and her staff) embody the local difference – it’s not unusual to hear her calling out to customers by name, making sure they found their favorite item or asking after their family.
We love Organic Market’s mission of “creating community and culture through the products we sell and the experience we provide our customers,” which shines through in their support of local causes and farmers, as well as their dedication to educating their customers on better food choices and a healthier lifestyle.
