LoveLocal Fest July Edition Rocked ~ Next Up, Locals’ Edition!

We upped the ante with our fourth LoveLocal Fest season kickoff, which took place on July 31 at Aselton Park! LoveLocal Fest saw its biggest crowd yet, with well over 1,000 locals and visitors joining the free, family friendly fun on a perfect day for enjoying local food, music and shopping at more than 50 vendors. Official photos will be posted soon and make sure to search #lovelocalfest on Instagram and Facebook to see pics posted by attendees!

For the first time ever, LoveLiveLocal welcomed a beer garden, which was a huge hit. The Cape Cod Beer team brought not only their beer trailer but their benches to create a perfect setting for drinking and eating local.  Fiddlestix was an enormous hit with their “gourmet grub on a stick,” as always, while we added to the culinary options with The Pineapple Caper grilled cheese truck and the Salt Block Food Truck’s fresh seafood-driven choices. Of course, there were sweet and salty options too, with Wicked Good Kettle Corn and The Local Scoop.

With another stellar sound set-up provided by Palmer Egan and Studio Two Entertainment, the LoveListenLocal stage was rocking all day. Kim Moberg started things off just right, and then JO & CO took over for an energetic set that filled the lawn with people dancing along.  Just before Jake Bautista took the stage, we had some surprise guests arrive – Rick Garceau and Tom Nortz of Captain David Kelley House Bed and Breakfast had organized a flash mob to perform a 10-minute medley of sounds from the sixties and seventies, and they even came dressed for the vintage vibe!  With Jordan Renzi and then Molly Parmenter and Dave Ellis, the original music and fun covers continued, before the Schuyler Grant band took to the stage to bring the energy back up with their driving guitar, super-cool looking stand-up bass and killer drums. Palmer Egan and friends closed out the day with tunes of their own.  {Huge thanks to our media sponsor for this event, CodComm, for sharing the details on PIXY, Frank, Y101 and Koffee, and via social media!}

Mark your calendars now for our next event, which is September 25, 11am to dusk, at Aselton Park. We’re looking forward to bringing you another amazing lineup of local food trucks, vendors, musicians and activities for the whole family! Interested in becoming a vendor?Apply here!
