A benefit of being a local is the chance to enjoy Cape Cod in the shoulder seasons, which we know are really the ideal times to be here. The short summer means we sometimes miss out on seasonal hot spots so we’re especially grateful to those restaurants and bars that stay open into the fall.
We love heading down to Woods Hole for the casual vibe and delicious tacos at Quick’s Hole(open until late Sept). Grabbing a drink and some whole belly clams or chowder on Hyannis Harbor at Baxter’s is another favorite activity (open until late Sept). Catch Patriots games and local musicians like Sara Laketa (9.6) and Smoke & Mirrors (9.12) at the Sand Dollar Bar & Grill in Dennisport through October.
Tiding us over until Wellfleet Oysterfest are Mac’s On The Pier and Mac’s Shack down Cape – get your raw bar fix plus a totally relaxed atmosphere and great drinks. Or, escape to theNor’East Beer Garden in Provincetown for craft beer and artisan cocktails. (until mid-Oct)
Call ahead just to be sure seasonal spots are open before you go!
