There is no finer month than October to take a jog outside. The crisp air and not-too-hot/not-too-cold temperatures make for perfect running conditions.
What could make this scenario even better? Running to raise money for worthy causes while having a unique and fun experience.
The High Five 5K takes place on Saturday, October 11 at Town Neck in Sandwich and raises money for Family Continuity’s Family Support Fund. They provide emergency support to clients and their families who are seeking social services and mental health support. Hilarious race hosts Mullet Marathon encourage runners to “let their hair down and give high fives” while living a healthy lifestyle and helping others.
A week later join another pack of fundraising runners for The Cape Cod and Islands Chapter of the American Red Cross’ annual run/walk, the Heroes Haul 3 Miler. Prizes will be given to the first place finishers, as well as for the best superhero costumes. The race will start and finish at the Hyannis Village Green, where there will be additional family-friendly activities, such as face painting, music and a puppet show.
