We of course LOVE all of our local makers here on the Cape and are excited to spotlight the super talented artists we carry at our LoveLocal Collective retail store in Hyannis. This month’s spotlight is on Susan Kurtzman of Jobi Pottery.
Jobi Pottery was founded in 1953 in Truro by Joe Colliano and Bill Hastings, known as ‘The Jobis’. In 2003, Susan Kurtzman resurrected the business, keeping most of the traditional patterns as well as creating new colors and designs each year.
Jobi’s bright and stylish color palette, along with simple and classic designs like their fish pattern makes their pottery both timeless and trendy. We adore their pieces, especially their pinch pots, which make the perfect gifts! The “Pinch Pot” was created in the 1950’s and is a small bowl, pinched into its irregular shape by hand, each one unique.
Their pottery line is impressively vast and includes plates (and sets!), mugs, bowls, vases, pitchers, clocks and so much more! You can view a curated selection at our retail space in Hyannis as well as visit their showroom and studio in Truro to see their entire collection.
