It’s the 59th year for the Hyannis Rotary Club Home & Garden Show, and this year event organizer, Clean Green owner Jitka Borowick has decided to shake things up a bit by adding a “Lifestyle” element to the show.
For the first time the event will include a Good Run for Good Works 5K walk/run, a half-mile run for youth 7-12, and a 100M “run” for children 6 and under as a way to encourage a healthy lifestyle.
But as always the two day event, which kicks off Saturday morning March 18, will include over 150 booths and displays focused on home renovation products, household services, landscaping and gardening (bring your soil to have it tested by the Master Gardeners Association to help you create a garden that thrives).
It is a great event for the whole family as there are plenty of activities for children like face painting, art projects and games; and you can stay for lunch in the school cafeteria where you can enjoy live music by Sarah Swain & the Oh Boys while eating food from local restaurants.
The event is the annual fundraiser for the organization, which gives back to the community by donating money to organizations like Barnstable High School, Cape Cod Media Center, Cape Cod YMCA, Dream Day of Cape Cod, Hyannis Athletic Association, Hyannis East & West Elementary Schools, Independence House, CHAMP House, Hyannis Public Library, Cape Cod Times Needy Fund, Camp Lyndon, Cape Cod Hospital, Housing Assistance Corp., and the Hyannis Main Street BID. They also give out thousands of dollars in scholarships to local students every year.
