These last few months we have had a few people ask where they can go to set up to work remotely or have business meetings. They say they would like to support local businesses by buying a cup of coffee and a scone while they work, or have an afternoon tea while they meet with collaborators, rather than spending their dollars at Panera or Starbucks.
In Woods Hole or Falmouth, our favorite places to post up are Coffee Obsession or Pickle Jar Kitchen, because they offer great caffeinating beverages and snacks as well as a comfortable and cozy place to settle in.
In the Hyannis area, some spots we’ve been known to frequent for in-person meetings and a cup of coffee are Nirvana in Barnstable Village, where you can settle in to an armchair for comfortable brainstorming. Hyannis Main Street spots that are good for solo or group projects are Rendezvous Café and Creperie and Green Lotus Café, where you can also grab a healthy lunch.
If you are looking for a place that offers a more focused setting for group meetings and brainstorming sessions, The Local Juice has a new work space they have opened to the community. Or you can head over to Independence Drive to the recently minted Cape Space Business Center, which is a full-service flexible workspace facility with private workspaces, communal work areas, interview rooms, conference rooms, and training facilities.
Down Route 28 in Dennisport and Harwich Port, Buckie’s Biscotti are perfect spots to confab with a colleague, and further down Cape Snowy Owl Coffee Roasters is a popular spot for business meetups in Brewster, just as the Hot Chocolate Sparrow, Sunbird and Jo Mamas are in Orleans.
And if you find yourself working all the way down at the tip of the Cape, the Wired Puppy in a great spot for some laptop sessions.
