If you’ve ever had a Salty Oats cookie you know how addictive the “subtly sweet, curiously salty” treats can be. Great news for those seeking a fix: owner/baker Terri Horn has opened a brick-and-mortar location at 239 Main Street in Hyannis. Dubbed Good Butter Bakery, the clean, airy space is a breath of fresh air.
With a focus on simple ingredients, Terri and team turn out wholesale orders as well as a modest array of retail offerings. Now, in addition to all varieties of Salty Oats cookies, you can pick up one of Good Butter’s incredible pies sourced with local and in season fruit — for example, peaches from Western Massachusetts and organic rhubarb from Not Enough Acres Farm in Dennis.
Terri, who has been a baker most of her life, founded Kayak Cookies in Washington, DC in 1997. Her love of the ocean brought her to Cape Cod in 2005, where she has found steady local support. Terri’s commitment to quality makes her one of our locals to love. Wherever possible, she uses organic ingredients and ensures that every cookie and pie is prepared and packaged by hand to maintain integrity.
