Summer may be coming to an end, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still go to the beach – Craigville Beach, to be exact. The weekend of September 17 and 18 is jam packed with events on Barnstable’s popular south side sandy shore.
Saturday brings another year of the Yellow Dog Music Festival, where Berklee College of Music students produce the music-meets-nature event in order to raise money for the Barnstable Land Trust and ultimately help combat climate change. The festival, which runs from 1-7pm, features six musical acts including Cody Simpson, and local favorites Crooked Coast.
And guess what!? We’ve got 2 tickets to give away to the Festival, in our very first online giveaway! Comment on this article/post tagging your favorite local band and at which local venue you last saw them, and you’ll be entered to win an afternoon of music at the beach!
Sunday morning at Craigville at 10am brings the Cold Noses Foundation’s annual Paws at the Beach Festival and Beach Walk. To celebrate the first weekend dogs are allowed back at Cape Cod beaches, they will have vendors, food, music, and pet contests for all to enter. The fundraising event helps Cold Noses, a local nonprofit, fulfill their mission of bringing emergency aid to animals in need all around the world.
