We would like Chequessett Chocolate to be our Valentine. This North Truro-based craft chocolate line is not only locally owned and operated, but has winter hours that make it a perfect off-season destination for treats that are both deliciously good and good for you.
Owners Katie Reed and Josiah Mayo source cacao beans directly from Rainforest Alliance Certified farms that use fair labor practices. Combining those with the best quality ingredients and some local love, the pair handcraft beautiful bars that can be ordered on the Chequessett Chocolate site and, soon, in shops around the Cape. Flavors include pure dark, cacao nib, mochachino, and cherry-almond, a limited edition collaboration with the Provincetown Film Festival.
Beginning February 8, the factory is open to visitors who can take in the bean-to-bar experience and enjoy sample, a beverage bar and free wi-fi … a perfect excuse to take in the beauty of the outer Cape in winter. – 8 Highland Road, North Truro; open Weds – Sun, 10am-4pm.
