One of our favorite things to do during the Cape Cod summer is eat. All the food. From restaurants, farmers markets, and ice cream shops – and there are five flavors from a few of these fine establishments that we feel you must taste before the summer’s end.
A dip and roll from The Local Scoop. Take one of their Cape Cod famous ice cream pops and roll them in the topping of your choice. You can find them popping up with this option at Orleans Firebirds games, at Truro Vineyards, at the Harwich Port Stroll, or at the Orleans Farmers Market.
Um, golden beets, kale, mozzarella and edible flowers…on a pizza? Heck-to-the-yes! That is one of Wolf Pizza’s many gourmet pizzas (known as ‘The Becky’) that we were freaking out over at last week’s LoveLocal Fest. You can get a taste at the Falmouth Farmers Market that happens every Thursday at Marine Park.
Speaking of freaking out. Three words: Water Street Kitchen. It’s hard to figure out what item on the menu we don’t want you to go after, but because their heirloom tomatoes are popping right now we think you should definitely go with those topped with fresh corn and creamy burrata.
The acai bowls at Bol in Wellfleet are almost too beautiful to eat. With our new-found fascination with the pirate tales of Cape Cod, we are digging the Whydah right now with acai, bananas, blueberries, strawberries, almond milk, granola, toasted coconut, chia seed, bee pollen, agave drizzle…and a whole lotta love.
We crave Cape Cod Kombucha on the daily, and have considered asking them to make small batches *just* for us, especially now that they have a special edition flavor made with dragon fruit and goji berries, but for now we’ll have to get our fix at Wellfleet Farmers Market at Preservation Hall.
