350 MASS // Cape Cod

350

We love Mother Earth and we love this local organization that is dedicated to learning about and confronting the urgent challenges of climate change, here on Cape Cod and beyond.

350 Mass // Cape Cod, formed in January 2017, is a local chapter of 350 Mass which is closely aligned with the mission and values 350.org, an international climate movement founded in 2008 led by Bill McKibben, author of one of the first books on global warming for the general public. 350 was named after 350 parts per million — the estimated safe concentration of carbon dioxide the atmosphere can sustain.

The local chapter hosts monthly meetings to discuss the latest topics affecting the globe and our beloved sandbar. They are focused on community education and action to confront the climate crisis, hold local and national politicians accountable, and undermine the destructive influence of the fossil fuel industry.

Join 350 Mass // Cape Cod on Sunday, November 5 at Cape Cod Beer for the second installment of their Community Conversations series featuring Gary Rucinski, MA State Coordinator of Citizens’ Climate Lobby, and our very own Amanda Converse, owner of Shift Eco Boutique. These fun gatherings present opportunities for you to combat climate change at the individual level – from public policy options you can support to every day choices you can make to reduce the impact on the earth’s climate. We’ll see you there!
